The Joker

There was a request on NSHC for a character inspired by Heath Ledger's Joker in The Dark Knight. I dunno. I've seen the film twice so far and will probably see it once more in theaters, and I have to say--even though I haven't ever done this for any other sort of actor buzz--that Heath Ledger's Joker is really pretty astounding. You wouldn't look at that guy who was in A Knight's Tale and Brokeback Mountain and imagine him able to be so wickedly insane and grotesquely hilarious... but somehow, holy cow, he did it.

I tried to capture some of the movie posters' look here. This kind of manip isn't what I usually do but I actually like it a bit; I feel it's a passable character portrait.

A lot of painting went into this, actually, by the way, and altogether I believe this took around 3 hours.

I hate watermarks, so I'm not gonna put one unless needs require it so.
Even though Jacoby at NSHC requested this image for their character, there are probably other characters inspired by The Joker (since he really is one of a kind), and I don't mind if anyone uses this as long as the stock artists are okay with it and as long as the credits (including mine, hehe) are not removed. In other words, don't claim it's yours.

EDIT: I think it's worth noting that I listened to the score from Beauty and the Beast the whole time I was making this.
